چکیده

In the high potential plasma, upstream of the double layer, the measured electron energy distribution function EEDF shows a very clear change in slope at energies break corresponding to the double layer potential drop. Electrons with lower energy are Maxwellian with a temperature of 8 eV, whereas those with higher energy have a temperature of 5 eV. The EEDF in the downstream plasma has a temperature of 5 eV. Over the range of pressures wherein the double layer and accelerated ion beam are detected by analysis of a retarding field energy analyzer, the strength of the double layer corresponds to the energy where the slope changes in the EEDF break . We deduce that the downstream electrons come from upstream electrons that have sufficient energy to overcome the potential of the double layer, and that only a single upstream plasma source is required to maintain this phenomenon. © 2007 American Institute of Physics. A Note on Free Vibration of a Double-beam System with Nonlinear Elastic Inner Layer

In this note, small amplitude free vibration of a double-beam system in presence of inner layer nonlinearity is investigated. The nonlinearity is due to inner layer material and is not related to large amplitude vibration. At first, frequencies of a double-beam system with linear inner layer are studied and categorized as synchronous and asynchronous frequencies. It is revealed that the inner l...

A theory for formation of a low pressure, current-free double layer

A theory is developed for the formation of a low pressure, current-free double layer just inside an upstream dielectric source chamber connected to a larger diameter, downstream metallic expansion chamber. The double layer is described using four groups of charged particle: thermal ions, mono-energetic accelerated ions flowing downstream, accelerated electrons flowing upstream and thermal elect...

Evidence of the Potential Shift Mechanism in Crevice Corrosion (RESEARCH NOTES)

Previous research has indicated a qualitative resemblance between the current distribution along actively corroding crevice walls and currents measured in corresponding anodic polarization plots. Using detailed measurements of the potential gradient along the crevice, a semi-quantitative current distribution was calculated for the crevice wall using a double numerical differentiation method. Th...

Numerical Investigation of the Non-Uniformity of the Electric Field Distribution by Injection of Net Electron Charge in TE CO2 Laser

In this report, the distribution and deviation of electric field in the active medium of the TE CO2 laser has been investigated due to the injection of net electron charge beam as a plasma generator. Some parameters of system have been considered, such as density and mean-free-path of injected charge beam. The electric potential and electric field distribution have been simulated by solving the...

The study of dose gamma rays of 192Ir source on DNA single strand break (SSB) and DNA double strand break (DSB) in soft tissue phantom

Introduction: Passage of ionizing radiation through the organs of living creatures develops clusters of damaged nucleotides inside the DNA rounds. 192Ir Gamma source is one of the most widely used sources in brachytherapy of cervical and prostate cancer. Thus, in this research, we investigated the flux of photons and its resulting secondary electrons, the single-strand break (S...
